HEAVY SPOILERS ! references to the old movies

Something I just found, but not sure if it was in the movie or just a trailer. In one of the trailers Max says 'everybody has gone out of their mind..."You're not the only one, Max".

That dialogue was only used in the trailer(s), not the actual film, but has it ever been revealed who it is that actually says it? I've often wondered what character it might have been.

Two points of clarification need:
In the third act, when Max sees the women ride off into the vast salt frontier, the girl ghost confronts him and briefly becomes the black mask character Max will eventually encounter on the war rig. He puts up his hand to block her/his attack and this is what ultimately saves him from taking a crossbow bolt directly to his brain. Is Max psychic or will ghost-girl accompany in future adventures, pooping up at opportune times?
Before entering the sandstorm, Immortan Joe is tapping his vehicle's compass. I wasn't sure why this is shown. The storm is magnetic and wreaks havoc on such devices ?

There is no clarification of the first one, but some form of spiritual cause may be at play - at the start of the film the ghostly images Max sees are a mix of inquisitive or angry, whereas when Max starts to become more human again they appear to change more to being helpful.

Or maybe he's just mad, and the hand to the forehead is just coincidence

As for the compass, perhaps magnetic storms are the cause for no technology to work - everything in the world is low-tech, perhaps storms caused ESD which killed all transistors ... as such driving into a storm might be risking electrical damage to the vehicles, Joe seems pretty annoyed about it.

That's exactly what happens. electrical storms, or more precisely - lightning strikes can mess with the compass. Entering a HUGE desert storm like the one in FR would most definitely mess with the polarity of Immortan's compass. That's definitely not what would render all electronics useless, but rather the fact that they would just stop functioning over the 40 years since 'day zero'.

Well, the alternators, batteries, and starter motors in the vehicles were working / repairable (Furiosa starts the war rig off battery, the Bullet Farmer has a spotlight), and plenty of 50 - 60 year old radio gear still works (like WW2 radios and the like) ... you can also create analog radio transmitters / receivers pretty easily using basic components. Also, there are computers from the very early '80s that are still in good working condition now - at easter I went into a picture framing shop that uses an '84 Amstrad computer for their stock control, for instance, so when treated right they could absolutely still be useful 40 years after the fall of the world.

If there was consistent RF interference on a huge scale, it would render radios pretty useless, but when it comes to computers you'd need electromagnetic discharge to kill them.

This isn't a reference to the original trilogy, but rather to something else.

In one of Max's flashbacks in FR I noticed a familiar image of a baby in a womb. I knew I saw it somewhere, but I thought ... naaah they couldn't have just ripped it off.

Turns out they did. That is a shot from a videoclip by Massive Attack - Teardrop in Fury Road:
