The opening chase scene was painfully short

Post by milian »

If only it had been a bit longer like this Fury Road recreation in GTA 5, it would have bee much better. :)

Perhaps a valid criticism but then it would be exactly like the opening of The Road Warrior.

I would like to have seen more of max with the beard and goggles.

Plus, what exactly was he doing before he stamped on the lizard?

Zoning out, deep in thought? Maybe scoping for where to go next.

Or just what we hear him thinking. Suffering from the images of his PTSD.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

Have come to accept the opening as pure genius and although it would have been cool to see more of pure BoB sexxin up the joint for longer in the story, I think we got just enough. BoB`s death scene is amazing to say the least, it felt like you were actually there helplessly observing this chaos with your own eyes and ears and logistically, wow.
Tipping they had a once only set up with that whole scene and seems like everyone hit their marks, bravo.

Isnt Max taking a leak at the start? This attracts some home delivery lizard and shows that even Max can get caught out with his figurative pants down when he spots the War Boys a little late.

In the trailer you could hear static around the voices , given the high vantage point , the old school headphones , the myriad of static drowned voices , I thought he was trying to tune in an old radio , I was disappointed when the static wasn't in the movie....suggesting more that they are voices in max's head . his stance definitely looks like he is fiddling with something . I too wish the BOB was in the film for longer....but in spite of the Buzz I hear...I don't think we've seen the last of it

I remember in the trailers thinking he was tuning a radio but those broadcasts would be way out of the timeline anyway.

The initial chase was a bit disappointing, not just because of the lack of time with the iconic car but similar to Mad Max 2 when the car is destroyed, it just seems unlikely for this "road warrior" who survived so much to be taken down so quickly and/or easily.

Someone else in another thread pointed out that Max`s car is tired, Its got rags keeping the tyres together, the body work looks almost fossilised and the things blows black smoke. No match for the War Boys freshly pounded machines. That's the feeling I got as well.
