Killer pics. I'm astounded only the blower switch is missing but other random stuff like the head and weapon pouches on the door remained. These pics will help people improve their replicas no doubt.

Well least something stayed faithful to how it was then. I never viewed it in person after it was purchased again and then given that makeover. I still dislike what became of it as to me it really should have been left as it was for the most part. It was in amazing screen used condition really. All it really needed was a good strapping in a paddock to get some red dirt on it again and it really would have looked incredible.

I guess someone seen those bits symbolic with the Interceptor and that would be my guess why those were missing. I don't know if they were missing before the car came down or if they were taken afterwards. From memory the owner when we viewed the car just left it with us and went back down to the house. It may have been viewed before by some not so trustworthy people that just couldn't help em selves.. You'd hope not but I really don't know.

Yes, COTS wouldn't allow photos to be taken but they were kind enough to take my pic with the car based on conduct. In 2004, I visited Keswick all the way from Sydney, just to see the interceptor again. The first encounter with the car was back in 1986 at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. At the time in Keswick, the COTS curator gave me the idea to look up Ray Evans. Ray owned the interceptor before Bob Fursenko so there had to be photos of the car in the condition after the film and before the restoration. Sure enough, Ray was kind enough to give me a few photos when I met him in Adelaide back in 2004. I have recently spoken with Ray and have been given his permission to post a few pics.

Great pictures in particular the ones Ray shared with you. Must have been when he first got it perhaps as there is still some of that red dust on it in the pics? Can see the gearknob and blower switch are not present in the picture with the dog impersonating dog. It's really cool to see more of it from back then. Thanks for sharing them.
