Re: Fury Road-related Comics (**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**)
Bought a copy today. Was a bit hard to find being sold out around the place.
I've never been into comics but this has the awesome backstory we all want to know.
Only $5 it's absolutely brilliant and a great read for all Mad Max fans.
Does anyone know how many issues there's going to be?

They're released each month so Furiosa will likely be out around the second week of June, Max #1 in July and Max #2 in August and then in September the graphic novel with all 4 issues as one volume will be released along with the blu ray and videogame.TheWarriorMax wrote:How long until they are all out?DGSimo wrote:4 total. Re: Fury Road-related Comics (**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**)
The idea of a DNA clone who has Max's memories is stupid and way too impossible and implausible for the Mad Max universe. The whole thing that made the original films so terrifying was that they showed us a world that was imminently possible.
I was dismayed when I heard Fury Road would have "mutants" and this whole blood transfusion thing going on, but Fury Road did manage to pull that off.
But a DNA clone with original Max's memories? No. Absolutely not.
HOWEVER
There's nothing to say Tom Hardy Max does possess original Max's memories. All we know is that he was a cop, and according to the trailer for the Mad Max video game, he drives around with a photo of his deceased wife and daughter on his dash board. Presumably she is the girl who haunts Max's flashbacks in Fury Road.
And Hardy has stated that Miller presented his character's back story to him as him being some kind of former military police.
So.
The MFP was way too under-funded to ever have the money for a cloning program.
But during or after WWIII, a national military agency might be the very last government entity to lose its funding and resources. And it might impose martial law and institute a police force in a desperate bid to hold on to its own power over civilian society and/or keep what's left of that society alive.
So.
Such an organization might conceivably want to clone virile, aggressive men who had strong track records of performing well in combat against outlaws.
Men like Max.
And since genetic deterioration and mutation is such a theme in the Fury Road universe, perhaps there would have been particularly strong incentives for cloning a fine specimen like original Max.

@flightsuit What is this cloning Max stuff? Whoever thought that up needs to "Cut the crap."
With the Comic for Immortan Joe it didn't explain how his skin came to be in Fury Road? Or has it just developed over time after the fallout? Because of this he has damaged genes. Is this the reason of the mutant babies too?

Re: Fury Road-related Comics (**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**)
Seems like it's a disease, like cancer, that has developed over time due to that area of the wasteland being toxic and the toxic storms bringing it upon the Citadel. The "mutant babies" would appear to be more at fault with the mothers than Immortan since thats why the Wives were so important.Get the bullet wrote:@flightsuit What is this cloning Max stuff?
