I also had some problems understanding the dialogues. Mostly by the sound of the cars and action. Just hard to make out what was said. But also some terms you don't hear often that I didn't recognized at first, like 'mediocre'. Or words that I thought I understood but didn't match up with the subs. 'Witness me' was translated as 'Remember me' with the dutch word for remembering a deceased person.
And also in the dutch subs it said 'Confumatus' when Max was swearing  As far as I can remember this was the only 'cursing word' used in the film. Miller had a nice touch there 8-) The movie is rated R, but if there was some swearing in it, it would probably rated R+ And Miller has avoided that.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

Nah. Then we'd have to listen to all sorts of theories about how the Gyro Captain turned into the Bullet Farmer.

Haha didn't mean to start such controversy over the Buzzard speak, when those dudes took off after the war rig was when fury road really started to kick into high gear. Looks like with all the tie ins were getting more back story to our questions. Heard in recent interview G. Miller said the Buzzards are lowest common denominator wasteland scavengers, maybe its a broken dialect of actual languages mixed with wasteland slang/gibberish, kinda like Blade Runner "city speak", anyhow thought it added a cool new dimension the Mad Max films

Says in the Art Of... book the Buzzards are Russian.
"...and it was here in this blighted place, he learned to live again."

I was expecting more of the broken english / "morrow morrow land" in Fury Road, considering that society is broken, schooling is dead.

Furiosa and Immorten obviously had access to books ;)

Here's something you mightn't know.
On set when there were few around Charlize would drop into Afrikans and change her accent to speak to some SA crew members .
I wonder whether her present "American" accent is put on and her natural accent is SA, or like some people she's a Chameleon and adjusts to suit wherever she is.
Possibly quite natural for an actor to do.

And reading the wiki background on Charlize and Tom, both their real personal lives seemed quite tough growing up, so they are perfect in my eyes for the roles they played.

I will have to see the film at least 2 or 3 times to really take it all in

I'm sure this has already been mentioned in previous pages, but Immortens mask opened? If I hadnt found this pic I would have forgotten that bit.

I will go see it a second time, but was a canister/bomb thrown into the cab of the truck, and was just on the floor for a minute or so?
(it all happened so quick that I didnt really figure out if it had been thrown out of the truck before exploding)

His mask opened a couple of times in the film but the prominent time was when he's holding Splendid's body as Rictus is shooting in the background.

Also yeah Furiosa tosses the bomb out the window quick after the Keeper of Seeds gets chopped.

I completely missed that bit / must have blinked or something. So much going on in the film needs 3 or 4 views
