Re: HEAVY SPOILERS ! references to the old movies
As Max removes the bloodline hook from his neck before entering the sandstorm I think there is a noise similar to that of the BoB's supercharger from Road Warrior (where Mel crashes the front of the Interceptor into the Landau)...almost like Max is now getting a rush into his system as he is no longer functioning for two people.
Max loading the weapons into a bag reminded me of Master loading the trinkets into a simlar bag in the Trucktrain during BTD.
When Immortan enters the 5 Wives vault, the roofline structure is visiable and it reminded me of the Thunderdome.
The sped up chase scenes are a brilliant homage to the originals.
Furiosa shooting the gun over Cheedo's shoulder reminded me of Mel shooting at Savannah as she tried to escape the crack in the earth in BTD.
At the end of Fury Road one of the War Pups looks down upon Max Furiosa through what appears to be a view finder or blower converted to be long distance bino's - reminded me of the Crack in the Earth kids view finder in BTD where they see "tomorrowmorrow Land, Cpt Walker and Mrs Walker)
Immortan Joe provided Nux with a "Cowboy style" gun, Lord Humungus used a "Cowboy style" gun in RW - Im not a gun expert so stand to be corrected on this but they both looked like they would be used in the Wild West.

Yes, they are called revolvers. Because of the revolving magazineSCREWLOOSE wrote:Immortan Joe provided Nux with a "Cowboy style" gun, Lord Humungus used a "Cowboy style" gun in RW - Im not a gun expert so stand to be corrected on this but they both looked like they would be used in the Wild West.

"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

Max putting the weapons in the bag didn't remind me of this, but you've finally helped make the connection on another reference for me - the bag Master loads his important objects into is an old style doctor's bag, and looks identical to the bag in Fury Road that the seeds are carried in.SCREWLOOSE wrote:Max loading the weapons into a bag reminded me of Master loading the trinkets into a simlar bag in the Trucktrain during BTD.
The vault actually reminded me of Jedediah's cave in Thunderdome, with all the books and other luxuries stashed in there.SCREWLOOSE wrote:When Immortan enters the 5 Wives vault, the roofline structure is visiable and it reminded me of the Thunderdome.

Have to agree Keeper of the Seeds (KOTS) bag did remind me of Masters scene as well..and the vault had the luxuries that Jedidiah stashed as well...so many references or are we just seeing what we want to see and creating links.Peter Barton wrote:Max putting the weapons in the bag didn't remind me of this, but you've finally helped make the connection on another reference for me - the bag Master loads his important objects into is an old style doctor's bag, and looks identical to the bag in Fury Road that the seeds are carried in.SCREWLOOSE wrote:Max loading the weapons into a bag reminded me of Master loading the trinkets into a simlar bag in the Trucktrain during BTD.

What about when Max is telling the ladies to go back to the Citadel and take it from Immortan, KOTS seeds goes Kaaabooom and Max gives the nod of approval to say I like your style old woman...was this a homage to Road Warrior when Max warns Gyro if he touches the fuel in the Interceptor that it will blow up.

The seeds reminds me Ultimate Warrior, a big influence for Mad Max 2 !
Re: HEAVY SPOILERS ! references to the old movies
A thought occurred, does Immortan Joe's death carry reference from the first Mad Max in a statement that Goose made? "You know by the time we got to him, he was sitting there trying to scream with his face ripped off!" Who thinks I might be right. I hope to think I ain't alone in this possible reference.

Not sure about that, but as a form of death ripping someone's face off is pretty badass.Lonewolf wrote:I thought occurred, does Immortan Joe's death carry reference from the first Mad Max in a statement that Goose made? Don't worry. Your not the only one. I already made that reference on page 1Lonewolf wrote:A thought occurred, does Immortan Joe's death carry reference from the first Mad Max in a statement that Goose made? When Max crawls out of the crashed Interceptor there is a hint of the disorientation effect, that was used in Road Warrior after Wez/Humungus managed to take the original Interceptor off the road.
