Glossed over the new EW before work. 9 page story with lots of spoilers and in-depth talk with the cast.

Also saw an aussie news site interview with Miller where he reveals Heath Ledger was going to replace Mel until he passed away. Also revealed plans for the 2 sequels and a live arena event that will be touring using the vehicles from the film.

Though that could be a stuff up by the game developers.

There's some really appalling stuff in the game trailer, both creatively and story wise.

That family photo is SO out of character. Regardless whether it was son or daughter, he would never carry around their photo. I hope it's not in the movie - nightmares are one thing (you can't get rid of them) but the photo is just - wrong. For f's sake, Max left his dying wife to go on a killing spree. He's not carrying around things that remind him of his past family life. He's not that generic Hollywood vigilante guy.
Speaking of generic guys, Max's character model is as generic as it gets. Just cause, Uncharted, Last of us, billion other games. Same main guy. Right down to lumbersexual haircut and beard.

And finally, gameplay-wise, one thing that made me not even consider getting it is the infamous everybody-waits-while-we-attack-one-by-one-and-the-hero-crushes-our-skulls melee combat. Come on. Seriously. That stuff has to go away, it's 2015, we have the technology to make it go away. Please do. :)

PS: That whole thunderdome plus, rebuilding the interceptor storyline from the comic book is so over the top and trashy it's actually beautiful! In spaghetti-postapocalyptic Django kind of way beautiful. :D

This is the first time I ever heard of such a term and I can't stop laughing.

Doesn't Max have a photo of his wife and kid in Mad Max and Mad Max 2/Road Warrior embedded in the steering wheel/hub?

I'd be more concerned with the cartoon car physics and collision engine. I wouldn't worry. It just looks like a Just Cause 2 mod to me.

Be warned: That EW article pretty much spoils the entire movie.
