Mad Max 4 - The Game (September 1st 2015 PS4, XB1, PC)
Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
Thanks DG! I was desperately in need of news from the game
It's unbelievable that we have no release date yet...

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
Yeah sorry there's not much.
Someone did say they asked Christofer Sundberg from Avalanche on Twitter about the game and supposedly commented it'll be at E3...which is in June. Also WB Interactive is publishing The Witcher 3 and is released on May 19th so I can't see WB publishing 2 titles back to back like that and then they've got Batman: Arkham Knight in June.
So where does that leave Max? I have no idea honestly. It's almost March and there's been no real media or info on the game for over 18 months so the only thing that seems possible is that it'll be coming in the Fall or Winter. GDC is in March and WB Games have a booth which I'd imagine will have The Witcher 3 and Batman but could be possible Mad Max will be there.

Thanks for the update, pal. Even if it's your own thoughts
But I think you're right on a late 2015 release. Ok... now we have to focus on the movie itself. I can barely contain my excitement, even if I saw nothing (only five or six shots on TV) from the past trailers.

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
I was really hoping this would be released in may, at the same time as the movie, but as time drags on and no word of release it looks unlikely. It seems to have been in development for ages, I would of thought it would be completed (or nearly completed) by now.DGSimo wrote:It's almost March and there's been no real media or info on the game for over 18 months so the only thing that seems possible is that it'll be coming in the Fall or Winter.

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
I just got a phone call from game stop about refunding my preorder for this game because it's been canceled by the developer.
Well shit.
Well shit.
Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
Damn...
Quick google search returned no results on cancelling the game (yet). Could it be that your particular game stop is dicking around?
There have been some false reports from individual game stores already (concerning possible release dates mainly).

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
I'm not much of a gamer or a frequent enough customer for them to be comfortable enough to play games with me let alone the fact that preorders next to trade ins are their bread and butter.
I believe its legitimate, considering its such a niche game that there wouldn't be much news about it canceling yet(or at all). I'd check in on it as I pass by other game stops and they barely had any info as it was.
If I were you and preordered from gamestop I'd call and
check to see what the news is.

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
I think your GameStop goofed up.
WB showcased the game for the press last month and talked to various journos about it, plus the game is still available for preorder on GameStop's website along with Amazon and Best Buy.
The game has been in development for over 6 years now so I doubt they'd just can it out of the blue. Either way I've put the question to Avalanche.

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
They can if the project is insured and someone has a good reason to make a significant claim. Seems highly unlikely here though.DGSimo wrote:The game has been in development for over 6 years now so I doubt they'd just can it out of the blue.

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
Usually there's a public announcement about a game being "indefinitely postponed" long before it's officially canceled. I think more likely vendors such as your particular Gamestop store received a mail notifying them Mad Max isn't coming on a certain month and somebody else interpreted that as canceled.
