Just though I'd try and translate the chatter heard at the beginning as it will give us an idea of what is going on:
A emergency services dispatcher asks, "911 what is your emergencey"
A caller responds with panic, almost screams but the words are intelligable over the other noise.
An authoritative voice asserts, "It's the oil stupid"
A female announcer states, "Gasoline"
The authoritative voice distorts and repeats, "It's the oil stupid"
A news announcer states, "Security forces will use all measures"
Another news announcer states, "The world is actually running out of water."
A radio news reporter says, "The police are looting."
A female voice says, "Water"
The female voice continues, "Water wars"
A radio news reporter continues, "We are killing for gasoline"
An upbeat news anchor says, "We are getting close to the magical freak out..."
A baby cries.
A young voice shouts, "Who killed the world!"
A baby cries
Radio Chatter

Re: Radio Chatter
Sounds to me like
"911 where is your emergency?"
after that I thought I hear either "Get out, get out!" or "Get down, get down!"
Also, I heard it as "We're getting close to the terminal freakout point." rather than magical freakout point.
Can't tell if it's "Who killed the world?" or "We killed the world."
Anyone else notice anything? I'm hoping this movie goes into the back story a good bit. I'd like a nice explanation of how the resource wars (stealing the term from Fallout) went down.
Certainly some interesting chatter indeed. Amazing how much content can be fit into a three minute trailer, ya know?

Re: Radio Chatter
The female voice talking about "water wars" is almost certainly clips from a recent speech by Nancy Pelosi.

Re: Radio Chatter
"Who killed the world?" has a part to play in the movie...
"...and it was here in this blighted place, he learned to live again."
Re: Radio Chatter
You're right about all those things I think, though I still think it says "who killed the world!?" (changed temrinal freakout).Modern Wastelander wrote:Sounds to me like

However, I just loaded google and ran the first trailer I found and it was really, really clear that it says terminal freakout and "get out! get down" in a man's voice. That is not the trailer I originally heard though which in itself is interesting.
Here's the trailer which you've obviously watched: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akX3Is3qBpw This has the "get out! get down!" and clearly states terminal freakout, as you said.
Whereas this one is the original I saw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iO0jUAzOsV8

Re: Radio Chatter
I went and listened to the one you originally did. It most definitely sounds like "magical freak out point" there and I do believe I hear "Who killed the world?"
Strange. Are there two slightly different trailers perhaps? I mean, the "terminal" and "magical" both seem clear as day to me in the two different videos. Also seems like "The cops are looting" was a lot easier to hear in the trailer you first referenced than the one I was going by.

Re: Radio Chatter
The main trailer which is now at 9 millions viewings is being updated from time to time,
rigs onto the cars have digitally disappeared and the two voice overs are clearly different mixes.
I say they are fixing some blurbs on the trailer and re-posting it as it goes. You can do that on youtube and vimeo, without anyone noticing, you just replace the video.

Re: Radio Chatter
I re-watched it. I thought I saw a few small new clips inserted here and there in the trailer, but perhaps I just didn't notice them before.
Heh, in 20 years we'll have fans looking for the "lost pre-edited trailer version".

I kept all the versions. The new one have different color timing on some shots also, look at the clouds when Max turns at the beginning.
