Falcon Ute derelict / Diorama

[Interdictor]

Ford Falcon "Ute" derelict. Designed to work with the tree and incorporated into the "diorama", but is not permanantly attached.


Still a work in progress, many parts have recently been added and/or updated.


Front bumper recently added as well as headlamps and openings in the "grille"


Both the base and the Falcon itself have been in my collection seperately for many years having been built in the late 90's.
The tree was recently added to the base, and the Falcon seemed like a perfect fit.


Although any real instrument cluster detail was "unfortunately" smashed, I converted this kit to RHD.


Most of the exterior weathering was done 10+ years ago.
A decade of dust collected while sitting in my display case only helps the look.


Most recent work has been in detailing the transplanted Ford 2.3 4cyl. and building out the frontend. I used the 2.3 because the stock six was lost years ago, and the 4cyl was the smallest Ford mill I had in my spares box. (A V/8 would not fit in the engine compartment with the existing damage.)


This damage was all done over a decade ago. Most of the "loose" suspension bits were from that timeframe as well.
Rear wheels & tires have just been replaced and the "twist" in the rear suspension glued in place.


Falcon utes are seen many times throughout the franchise, so this RHD one makes a proper backdrop for my Interceptor

yes! i think it needs a few cross bow bolts sticking out of it too.

Looks great, but a little to "red". Needs a wash and drybrushing to give it some depth.
A little less rust on the engine. The engine and surrounding area usually have plenty of oil and grease to inhibit the kind of rust you see on the body & chassis.

Bart, good idea to incorporate some additional results of an anxiety.
Though I rarely add bullet holes, (no ammo to speak of left) but a couple of arrows/bolts is an awesome idea! I'm totally adding a couple!

And the color isn't quite as red as it appears in these [overexposed] pics. It has many dozens of coats of rust in solution, blackwash, dust, more rust.... It's very scaly and has great depth in person. I'm just a terrible photographer, LOL.
Also, not as apparrent in pics, the motor did recieve coats of actual engine grime, but many more of rustall. This ute has been derelect for many many years, and without a hood for many more before that.

That said, the engine compartment IS the weak spot currently, and work is never "finished".
